Stanley 77-194 MW408 12″ Aluminum Wheel

Stanley 77-194 MW408 12" Aluminum Wheel Measuring Wheel in Feet/Inches This rotary-wheel ‘beach wave distance finder’ is a real delight for those living on the unspoiled beaches near the coast of Oregon. Product is fairly easy to use, simply position oneself atop of the wheel, placing one’s feet upon it, wait for a wave and then crawl up to the water mark and the distance is stored inside a handy mechanism inside the wheel.

You can measure the distance of the waves throughout the day after a hard day at work, what more fun can you ask for besides finding a nest of snapping turtles?

CST/Stanley 77-930 TLM300 Tru-Laser Measurer

CST/Stanley 77-930 TLM300 Tru-Laser Measurer I was able to use this device in minutes. It’s simple and funtional…meets my needs for measuring building structures for my Spray Foam Insulation biz.

It has a strong LED laser with a cross-hair site…different. The LCD read out is perfect for the information to be easily read. It displays x-y and x-y-z planes.

The plastic case is alright and has the ergo soft-grip. It fits well in hand.

Highly recommend purchase except for extreme duty

Stanley 77-153 CL2 FatMax Cross Line Laser

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Stanley 77-153 CL2 FatMax Cross Line Laser I measured the accuracy of the FatMax I received. (1) The leveling (horizontal angle of the center of the projected cross) spec that is printed in the manual is 0.025-degree, and I measured better than 0.01-degree. (2) The plumb accuracy is hard to measure and no spec is given in the manual. I measured better than 0.05-degree, and it probably is much better than that. (3) The horizontal (right-to-left) line spec printed in the manual is 0.045-degrees. On my FatMax the line up to 45-degrees from straight ahead is level to better than 0.007-degrees. Beyond 45-degrees, the line curves down on both sides so that at 80-degrees from straight ahead it has dropped 0.030-degrees. I myself cannot speak to its robustness, since I have been treating it carefully, but its accuracy is much better than the company claimed.

Leatherman 830850 Skeletool CX Multitool An incredible piece of hardware. My wave covers all the bases, but this is the kind of tool that never leaves your side. I live in Hawaii right near the beach so my tools always rust. The high-grade materials used in the Skeletool CX haven’t rusted on me even to the slightest degree after extensive time and use. This tool has the important basics that will prove vital should you find yourself in a survival situation. I find a hundred new uses for it every day.

Leatherman 830294 c300 Folding Knife

Leatherman 830294 c300 Folding Knife It took me a little while to learn how to flick the blade open in one movement with the “blade launcher.” For me I needed to flick my wrist at the same time, as part of the opening process. Once I learned that, it became almost addictive, flicking my knife open, just because it’s fun. It really is amazing how it can have so little friction yet be such a tight and solid a little folding knife. Now, after a couple of months, I’m finding that it does take some cleaning and lubrication to keep the mechanism working right.

The c300 is the basic version of this knife, just the blade, no carabeeners or tools. I’m not sure if I’d like the extra weight or bulk of the fancier versions. This is a perfect size and weight, and feels fine in the pocket. I still have the pocket clip on it, and use it some, but often I just carry the knife in my pocket. The clip is not that intrusive, and actually helps make the handle fit in your hand. Using the knife, it has the feel of a big knife. I like the nylon handle. It’s well-designed and feels natural. I like the matte finish on the stainless blade. The quality of the knife is immediately apparent. Everything fits to very close tolerences. Locked, the blade feels solid, without any slop. I can’t think of a better all-around single blade pocket knife, whatever your use. I think the price is very good, it is a good value. The fact you can just flick it open so nicely is just icing on the cake.

Leatherman 830298 c304 Folding Straight-Edge Knife with Multi-Tool

Nice feel, great knife. Sharp out of the box, sweet tool. I wish I would have bought this sooner. I own a few leathermans, and I feel their knifes live up to the quality of their outher products.

Dremel 290-01 1.15 Amp 7,200 Stroke Per Minute Engraver includes Letter and Number Template

Dremel 290-01 1.15 Amp 7,200 Stroke Per Minute Engraver includes Letter and Number Template I purchased three of these with diamond point tips for etching at work.
They get used daily and provide quality identification making on a variety
of materials from plastics, to metal. We have found the diamond tip exceptional in making on tempered metal, and case hardened steel. The new design and style are superior to the old design, and greatly reduce fatigue in those long marking cessions.
Further, the new design allows a greater degree of control when marking in tight spaces.
We have found these tools to meet and exceed the needs of our organization.

Dremel MultiPro Cordless 7700-02 20,000 RPM Two-Speed 7.2V Rotary Tool System w/50 Accessories

Dremel MultiPro Cordless 7700-02 20,000 RPM Two-Speed 7.2V Rotary Tool System w/50 Accessories

This is a great tool for anyone needing to drill, polish, cut, grind, etch, sand, screw, etc…. but not for big projects. If you have larger projects, consider purchasing a more powerful, corded Dremel. But for crafts and basic home repair, this product works great.
The battery pack is easy to get on and off, and holds a charge well. (a back up battery is a good idea with ANY product!)
The only thing I can really say I’d improve on, would be the on/off switch. I don’t like that it goes High/Off/Low rather than Off/Low/High, for safety reasons. I have, on more than one occassion (while trying to switch tips) switched the unit on. There is no well defined seperation between the Lo/Off/Hi.
Otherwise, I am quite happy with it and the accessories it came with.

Dremel 697-06 150 Piece Rotary Tool Super Accessory Assortment

Dremel 697-06 150 Piece Rotary Tool Super Accessory Assortment

This is a great startup kit for a new rotary tool user. The case is okay, but large for the number of pieces included. There are way to many cutting discs and sanding drums in proportion to every thing else included. I dropped a cutting disc from less than a foot and it shattered so maybe it is good to have a bunch of them, but for what it’s worth, the second cutting disc did not break after being attached to the tool and cutting metal. Overall, good startup deal.

Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Tool

Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Tool

I bought this tool specifically to cut my doggie’s toenails, as I just had hardwood installed and wanted to avoid scratches in the wood finish.
Well, call this tool my total solution! Not to imply that doggie is totally happy, but the process is so quick and painless that I’m done in 10 minutes or less, and he’s much less traumatized.
If you have a doggie with black toenails like I do, you need this tool, because cutting off the nails has the added risk of bringing blood from getting in the quick. You can sand down the nails without getting in the quick and it’s quick and painless.
I’m sure I’ll find other things this tool is good for, but right now I’m in awe of how much this single purchase has made me and my dog so much happier!
Battery lasts good, tool has nice weight, pretty easy to figure out how to use it, even for an old lady like me.
